Violence in Sudan
The Violence in Sudan would probably not be classified as a genocide because the police are targeting all protestors. I would say it isn't a genocide.

Who's to blame for the Rwandan genocide?
I would say to blame would be the both sides of the genocide. The Hutu because they were the ones killing the Tutsi and carrying out the genocide. I would also say the Tutsi because they, in a way, provoked the Hutu by getting the extra privleges. The UN is also to blame because the country needed more troops but the UN cut the troops 90%.

After watching Defiance, My Responses.
People that driving Jewish people to the concentration camps should have helped free the slaves, you could call them. The bus drivingers have easy access to the slaves, they could have just drove away with a bunch of slaves in the bus. They could have drove them to freedom. The bus drivers could have also went on strike and said they weren't going to drive that bus, although it could have gotten them killed theirselves. The US should have addressed the issue in Germany that they Jews, homosexuals, people of color, and so on, were being treated in way that were unjust. The US should have spoke out against Germany which could have sparked other people and other countries trying to help the Jews, homosexuals, and so on. Today when a genocide is occuring we should do whatever we can to stop it and help the people that are being targeted. We need to make sure the whole country knows about it, so we need to speak publicly about it. We know the damage that can be done when a genocide happens so we need to make sure nothing as evil as the Holocaust ever comes remotely close to happening again.

Defiance- If I were the director, how would I direct this scene?
If I were the director in the scene where the Jews beat the scout to death, I wouldn't change a thing. I like the way the director has it now because it shows the hatred the Jews have against Germans. When then Jews shouted things like "This is for my son" or "This is for my family" then hit him, that shows the true emotion the Jews felt towards Germans. The Germans have killed so many Jews, and there is a saying that goes "An eye for an eye" which means if something happends to one person, another shall pay.
Defiance- What makes the Jew's actions justifiable?
I think that when you have the mind set that you were them, it's easier to understand. They must kill Germans in self defence before the Germans kill the Jews. Dealing with the stealing of supplies, they need food and ammunition to stay alive also. In the movie, they steal milk from the milkman in order to feed their little town they have made.

Defiance- Are their actions justifiable?
When the Jews living in the forest in the movie "Defiance" take revenge and steal to live, I feel like it's a necessity in order to live. The revenge was pretty reckless though, considering their own could die from it, but if you put yourself in their place, parents being killed, what would you do? I know I would want to take revenge for my loved ones. The stealing is definitely something they need to do in order to have enough food and protection for theirselves and the people they're protecting.

Jewish Pictures VS Our pictures
The photo below shows Jewish kids just playing around posing for photo. The photo above suggests the same thing. Before the Germans started killing off the Jews, the kids hung out as normal life now. The kids didn't have to worry about death or getting beaten for doing something wrong. They just played around as kids should be able to do. When I compare and contrast my family and friends photos compared to the Jewish daily life photos, there isn't much of a difference. The Jews still went to school and took back to school photos, they still hung out with friends, and they got married like we do now. I chose the photo below becuase it shows before the Germans, Jewish people had social lifes.
Genocide Examples
I form of genocide I saw at the Air Force Museum was extermination, when the Germans wanted to get rid of all of the Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, blacks, and other people that were "different". They created gas chambers to kill up to 150 people at a time in less than 10 minutes. So many "different" people were killed/ exterminated because Nazi Germany exterminated them.

#3 After studying the Armenian genocide, describe how your views on genecide and how it happends has changed.
My views on genocide have not change. I think it is a terrible thing to do and is evil, no matter what the reasoning is. And how it happends has not changed because I always new it was when people kill or descriminate because they don't like a certain group.
#2 If these are the 1st and 2nd stages of genocide, when do you think they become a problem?
They become a problem right when they happen. When a group starts to descriminate is when it is already getting too far.
#1 Why does genocide occur?
I would say it occurs when a powerful person or group wants to terminate another group based off of color, sexual orientation, and or religion.
